We are an independent charity providing locally based Mental Health services across the city of Sunderland. This year we are celebrating our 30th anniversary. We are affiliated to National Mind, the largest Mental Health Charity in England.
We are a voluntary organisation with a small team of professionals including qualified and student counsellors, independent mental health advocates and group facilitators, all working within the process of recovery. Having the right skill base is essential in ensuring the service continues to provide high quality services to the community it serves.
We have decorated the pages of this website with art produced in our art therapy group, we hope you like it.
Washington Mind has now published the 2nd version of the Sunderland Wellbeing Guide, which was designed to give advice and information about how to keep your mind and body healthy and where to find help if you have a problem. It offers self-help tips, general information and a quick guide to local services. You can view or download the guide here.
Guides are now also available for Gateshead and South Tyneside Wellbeing, containing information for locally based services. If you would like further information or a hard copy of your local Guide please contact us on (0191) 417 8043.
To extend on information given in the Wellbeing Guides, the NHS South of Tyne and Wear have commissioned Washington Mind to develop an online directory, which you can view here. This provides more detailed information about local services in Sunderland, Gateshead and South Tyneside. We will be continuously collecting information from services to be included in directory and also be relying on organisations to keep us up-to-date with changes within their services. This will keep the directory current and relevant. We would appreciate your support with this!
If you would like your organisation added to the directory please complete the Local Services Form and return to admin@wellbeinginfo.org. . Please note the site will provide a link to your own website so that more detailed information is available to the user.
Washington Mind would like to thank you in advance for your support and information and would appreciate it if you could forward this form to other relevant services/organisations to complete and return.
If you require any additional information please contact a member of the team on (0191) 4178043.
