To enable Washington Mind to continue to provide a wide range of quality mental health services we require a team of paid staff and volunteers with a diverse range of talents, skills and experiences. Support, supervision and training is provided, we offer volunteering opportunities for:

  • Trainee and qualified counsellors
  • Complimentary/alternative therapists
  • Life coaches
  • Therapeutic group facilitators
  • Fundraisers

Volunteer Passport Scheme

Welcome to our new Volunteer Passport scheme! This is available for all our current and new volunteers but we also want our loyal volunteers to be a part of this.

As part of the passport scheme you will receive a loyalty card and loyalty stamps whereby you will receive a stamp on your passport for being actively involved,

What will you get stamps for?

  • The induction
  • Any training attended
  • A stamps for each of the Health Champions courses
  • Attending Friends of Washington Mind meetings.
  • And so much more!

We have Bronze, Silver and Gold level certificates within the passport scheme and you will be awarded your certificates as a recognition of your commitment, the support you provide and as a reminder of how much you give of your time to Washington Mind and our appreciation for this. Current Volunteering Opportunities

Gardening Committee Members

We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic volunteers become members of our Gardening Committee.  As well as garden maintenance you will be given the opportunity to assist with the development of the existing garden area to meet the needs of the visitors to The Life House.

Volunteers should have a fitness level suitable for outdoor gardening activity and a knowledge of gardening and plants is desirable.


Fundraising Support

To identify different avenues of raising funds, to help organise fundraising events. To have excellent communication skills, the ability to work both alone and as part of a team, previous experience would be desirable but not essential as support will be given.


 Counsellors

Qualified and trainee counsellors in their final year of training are required to support the work of our Children and Young People’s project which works with the age ranges of 13 years to 25 years.
