Due to the nature of some of the groups we deliver, access will be decided on a case by case basis, which will be determined at assessment.

Moving In New Directions
I’m always moving and on the go,
As I’m moving, I go with the flow.
In the middle of what I do my mind is always thinking,
All the time on what to do.
New things to do, people to meet, make new friends
and greet old ones and talk of pastures new.
Directions I take in what I choose to do
With my life and directions on doing things new.
That’s my mind what’s yours?
Groups take place on a weekly basis at The Life House and the Hetton Centre.

The Washington Mind Pet Therapy Group enjoy their weekly visits to Bryson’s Animal Refuge. The group have found that walking the dogs who are waiting to be re-homed, petting the cats and dogs is a two way therapy; the animals benefit from the group’s time and contact, this gets them used to human company and therefore they are more approachable and easier to re-home. The group gain from the calming influence of the animals and the therapeutic benefits of being with the animals and out in the fresh air.
Due to the nature of this group, the physical aspects and level of responsibility regarding animals and their welfare, access to this group will be decided on a case by case basis.
